Born in Hyderabad. Obtained B.A. Degree in 1991 from RBVRR Women’s College, LL.B. from University College of Law, Osmania University. LL.M. specialised in Crimes & Torts, obtained First-Class from P.G. College of Law, Osmania University in 1997. Qualified UGC- NET in 2005, obtained Ph.D. in 2012, from the Department of Law, O.U. on the topic: “The Role of Victim of Crime in Criminal Justice Administration in India-A Critical Study”. Recognised as a research supervisor since 2015 and produced 3 PhDs and 08 ongoing. Wrote a Book on “Victimology and Criminal Justice System”. Life member for the South Asian Society of Criminology and Victimology (SASCV).
Prof. of Law, at the University College of Law, Osmania University, served as the Principal of the College of Law, OU for more than 5 ½ years, Vice-Principal for 6 ½ years, Former Dean, Faculty of Law, Kakatiya University & Chairperson, of Board of Studies in Law Department for 2 years. Convenor, LAWCET 2023-2025, Director, Legal Cell, At present Dean & Head Department of Law, OU, Director Legal Cell, OU, Convener, TG LAWCET-2025 & CBoS at Mahatma Gandhi University.
Having teaching experience of more than 24 years and identified as subject expert/script writer/presenter by Educational Multimedia Research Centre (EMMRC), The English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU), Hyderabad. Teaching criminal law, the law of torts, cybercrimes, Women and Law, Criminology, Research Methodology, Criminology and Penology, victimology, ADR and Labour Laws to graduate and post-graduate students.
Participated in the 18th World Congress of Criminology, at O.P. Jindal Global University, Delhi NCR, India; Conducted Seminar on Role of Women in the Promotion of World Peace-International scenario, in collaboration with HWPL, IWPG, IPYG, Seoul, South Korea, NIDA & JBRF India; and attended, presented papers in the Second & 4th International Conference of the South Asian Society of Criminology and Victimology (SASCV). Attended the 5th National Conference of Heads of Prisons of States and UTs on Prison Reforms at the Convention Centre, NDCC, Delhi, in 2016. In the year 2017 attended a 10 Day Refresher Course Programme conducted by GIDR on Capacity Building in Gujarat. Attended several other National Seminars and International Conferences. My area of interest is counselling.
